How to: Create links to files and folders

• This tutorial demonstrates how to create links to files and folders.

• You can create a new docPointer ReadMe file in Windows Explorer or desktop

• You can drag and drop files and folders from Windows explorer to docPointer.

• Files are not copied. Only links to files are created which work the same way as shortcuts.

• Double click the link to open it.

• Choose properties to modify the link. You can fe. change the description.

• There are several ways to show the properties window

• Format / Properties, PopUp menu / properties, Press F4 or simply start typing when the object is selected.

• The link can be modified in properties window.

• Toolbox also has a tool for links. You can use it to create a link to existing file, web site or folder

• When user double clicks "Empty Link" for the first time properties window appears.

• Use "Browse"  buttons in properties window for choosing.

• A link can also point to Control Panel or My Computer.
