How to: Create links to files and folders
This tutorial demonstrates how to create links to files and folders.
You can create a new docPointer ReadMe file in Windows Explorer or desktop
You can drag and drop files and folders from Windows explorer to docPointer.
Files are not copied. Only links to files are created which work the same way as shortcuts.
Double click the link to open it.
Choose properties to modify the link. You can fe. change the description.
There are several ways to show the properties window
Format / Properties, PopUp menu / properties, Press F4 or simply start typing when the object is selected.
The link can be modified in properties window.
Toolbox also has a tool for links. You can use it to create a link to existing file, web site or folder
When user double clicks "Empty Link" for the first time properties window appears.
Use "Browse" buttons in properties window for choosing.
A link can also point to Control Panel or My Computer.
